She was involved in a documented study in Canada for 3 years for the treatment of multiple sclerosis using acupuncture. Margie is passionate in the treatment of neurological conditions such as bell’s palsy, post stroke neuralgia, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease.

Margie has undertaken post graduate studies in both ‘Sports Acupuncture’ and ‘Cosmetic Acupuncture’ (also known as ‘Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture’) and has been applying both in her practice on a regular basis since 1998.

*Sports acupuncture involves the assessment of postural alignment issues and the treatment of motor points, trigger points and vertebral fixations using acupuncture to help correct postural imbalance.

*Cosmetic Acupuncture is the use of very fine, short acupuncture needles inserted subcutaneously under wrinkles to ‘lift the wrinkle’ thus helping to promote blood flow, collagen, tightening the skin and improving muscle tone. Margie will discuss with her patients the meaning of different ‘repeated expression lines’ and treat and discuss the emotional associations which need to be addressed for longer term results. She may use laser, electricity and/ or jade rollers and facial massage.

In practice, Margie applies both traditional acupuncture as well as sports acupuncture and the associated modalities of Chinese medicine such as electric acupuncture, Chinese cupping, infrared and Laser therapy, herbal and vitamin therapy and auricular (ear) acupuncture.
